In our reading meetings we read out submissions from members on a first-come-first-served basis. The society provides constructive criticism, and the author can specify the type of feedback they are after—narrative, structural, even grammatical.

Writing meetings are run by our Editor, or occasionally we’ll host workshops run by a special guest! Don't feel pressured to write a huge amount in one session—support, writing techniques, and (most importantly) snacks are all provided.

Over the last few years we have published two books: a collaborative thriller novel titled Fostering Guilt and Night’s Dew, an anthology of writing on the theme of dreams.

Our 2018 Anthology, Voices, is now out and available for purchase!

We also feature some of our members' submissions from the reading meetings (with their permission, of course) in our monthly Spotlight.

Part of our goals is to make sure our members make time for fun, and build friendships in the process. Throughout the year we put on a number of socials, like film screenings, theatre visits, make-shift karaoke nights and Christmas dinner. You can even contact our Social Sec with ideas!

Make sure to follow our socials to keep up with our events. If anything, you can always find us at The Vault (KCLSU's Strand pub) after meetings!
